Site Inspection Underway for Proposed New Swimming Pool in Passi City

PASSI CITY, ILOILO — Plans for a proposed new swimming pool in Passi City took an initial step forward on October 23 as city officials and representatives of Philippine Aquatics Inc. (PAI) conducted a site inspection at the Passi City Sports Complex.

Passi City Mayor Atty. Stephen A. Palmares welcomed former Congressman Eric Buhain, Secretary General of Philippine Aquatics Inc., and PAI Vice President Engr. Ferdinand “Jojo” Quilop during the visit to assess the proposed location for the planned swimming facility.

The inspection was attended by City Sports Director Randy Palomaria, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Planning and Design Section Chief Jermain Cem Dequilla, members of the Passi City Engineering staff, and Jojo Urquiaga, Executive Assistant to Secretary General Buhain.

The site visit served as an initial step in exploring the development of a new swimming facility that could further strengthen Passi City's sports infrastructure and support the growth of swimming in the area.

Once realized, the proposed facility could provide local swimmers with improved access to training opportunities, help develop young swimming talents, and contribute to the advancement of competitive swimming in Passi City and surrounding communities.

The initiative reflects the importance of collaboration between local government officials, technical personnel, and sports organizations in creating facilities that support athlete development and promote grassroots sports participation.

As discussions and assessments move forward, the proposed swimming pool represents a potential investment in the future of swimming and sports development in Passi City.

Further updates on the proposed project will depend on the outcome of the planning, technical assessments, and subsequent development steps.
